MALOVIŠTA VILLAGE

Malovišta is a Vlach village (in the Bitola region), on the slopes of the Baba mountain, under the Pelister peak (2,600 meters above the sea level). The village today counts at least 300 people, but at the beginning of the 19th century there used to leave more than 3,000. The main church in Malovišta was built built in the distant year of 1856, over the bases of an older one.

During the 19th century there used the exist several stores, an Inn and a school, that were located at the center of the village. Malovišta has three settlements: Gorno Maalo, Potrapot & Dolno Maalo. The first folk festival that represented the Vlach culture was played in Malovišta on August 2nd, 2002.
