LEUNOVO VILLAGE
The Leunovo village is located in the western part of the Republic of Macedonia, on the Bistra mountain in the Mavrovo National Park, some 10 km away from the "Zare Lazarevski" ski resort in Mavrovo.
It's settled on the shores of the artificial Mavrovo Lake, on the opposite side from the Mavrovi Anovi village. The village got it's name Leunovo by a girl Leona, who died defending the village.
Today the village is almost abandoned, but there are many cottages built.
